International. Stahl, a company of surface treatment solutions and coatings for a wide variety of materials, yesterday inaugurated its first Center of Excellence for Powder Coatings in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, Spain.
With this new Centre of Excellence, Stahl reinforces its position as a technology manufacturer for environmentally friendly ULB and UVB powder coatings for heat-sensitive substrates for interior and architectural applications. The strategic location of this knowledge and testing center allows Stahl to accelerate its services to major European markets.
The Centre of Excellence for powder coatings is the result of the acquisition of the R&D facility of OEM NuTech, an Australia-based expert in the development of specific powder coating products and processes for heat-sensitive materials, in May this year. Stahl and OEM NuTech have been working intensively together on a joint venture since July 2015. During this cooperation, they have created a unique system for the development of high-quality and eco-friendly powder coatings.
VOC-free powder coatings

"The facility allows us to work side-by-side with our partners to continuously optimize existing solutions and develop new possibilities." Together with OEM NuTech's know-how and full-scale production facilities at Stahl's Application Centre for powder coatings in Australia, we are able to test and showcase our solutions to our customers."
L'Hospitalet de Llobregat
With the new facilities in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Stahl has eight Centres of Excellence around the world where its experts work together with partners to develop and test new applications for specific areas and industries. The Centre of Excellence for Powder Coatings is located in one of Stahl's two manufacturing centres in Barcelona.
