Colombia. Acoplásticos, with the support of the Association of Andean Technicians in Coatings (STAR) will organize for next October 5 and 6 the training "Globally harmonized system of classification and labeling of SGA chemical products", which will be held at the Andercol facilities in Medellín.
The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals - GHS is a practical scheme that defines specific and harmonized criteria for classifying chemicals according to their intrinsic hazards, both physical, health and environmental, and establishes the elements to communicate these hazards through the label and the safety data sheet.
In Colombia, on August 6, Decree 1496 of 2018 was issued, which establishes the mandatory adoption of the sixth edition of the GHS (2015) for chemical products that have at least one of the hazard characteristics in accordance with the criteria of the Globally Harmonized System.
The objective of this training is to identify hazards, classify substances and communicate hazards through Safety Data Sheets and Labels.
The course is aimed at those responsible for the classification of products, quality personnel, environment, research and development, Safety and Health at Work, occupational medicine professionals, auditors, interested in the subject.
The process of transitioning to EMS in a company involves carrying out actions and creating procedures to classify substances, develop safety data sheets and labels, among other activities. That is why a personalized workshop will be offered through which it is sought that, per company, more than one person is trained.
