International. In a recently published paper, Chinese scientists synthesized the coating composed of polyaniline with antistatic and anticorrosive properties.
In a new paper, acrylic ester graft epoxy (A-g-EP) with COOH functional groups was first designed and prepared. Next, the compound PANI-A-g-EP was obtained by polymerization by oxidation of aniline in macromolecular chains A-g-EP. The PANI nanoparticles in the compound PANI-A-g-EP were evenly dispersed due to the strong interactions between the macromolecular carboxyl and PANI groups. The compound is characterized by FT-IR, UV-vis and cyclic voltametry (CV). The effect of PANI content on glass transition temperature (Tg) and thermal decomposition temperature (Td) was studied.
The composite coating PANI-A-g-EP was manufactured by the foundry in solution. The results of the anticorrosive performance and surface resistance of the composite coating demonstrate that the good anticorrosive property of the A-g-EP coating is caused by good wet adhesion. The anti-corrosion mechanism of PANI in the PANI-A-g-EP composite coating is revealed as electron transmission and passivation catalysis.
