United States. Clariant launched two new ranges of dispersion pigments for North American industrial and architectural coating manufacturers, in addition to its Trending 2019 Automotive Styling Shades, as part of its new and sustainable color support for the region's rugged construction sector.
In a vibrant display of the 2018 American Coatings Show, Clariant's pigment team responded to manufacturers' preferences for production optimization and rationalization measures with two ranges of pigment dispersions covering the entire color spectrum. Based on its high-quality durable organic pigments, Clariant's pigment preparations are easy to use, meet the strictest environmental standards and are developed to support the latest trends in the industry, such as heat management, UV curing, design effects and ecolabel search.
The following two new color ranges were launched for the North American market:
- "Super-transparent" dispersions based on halogen-free pigments for use in the easy formulation of metallic and mineral effect tones or transparent coatings.
The Hostatint A 100-ST range features nine highly transparent, ready-to-use pigment dispersions that offer the full circle of color to solvent-based paint systems. They provide a cost-effective way for manufacturers to enhance effects with dye-like color intensity, but with very high light and weather resistance, and without migration or bleeding.
This provides a cost-effective way for manufacturers to meet trend indications in lifestyle electronics, consumer products, wood, glass, coil coatings, and automotive applications. Pigment dispersions are highly stable, contributing to safer storage, transport and handling, and a long paint life.
- Hostatint UV range for easy and safe coloring of radiation-cured coating systems for industrial and wood coatings. High-performance, easy-to-use dyes are offered as ready-to-use liquid pigment dispersions that favor the popularity of UV curing. They are high in pigment content but with a low viscosity that guarantees a good flow.
Pigment dispersions are the next step in supporting the easy formulation of high-performance coatings with low VOC, adding additional value to increased productivity, lower costs and improvements in surface performance of UV-cured wood coatings. The dyes are suitable for interior and exterior coatings and cover the entire color spectrum in opaque and transparent applications for dual and 100% UV systems.
