Colombia. From April 25 to 27, the XVI National Congress of Corrosion and International Structural Integrity, Ascor 2018, will be held in the city of Cali, which is promoted every two years by Ascor (Colombian Association of Corrosion and Protection) in different Universities.
The congress that will be held at the Universidad del Valle and the Autonomous University of the West of the City of Cali Colombia aims to be an important scenario of scientific, academic and business relationship and exchange in which researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate students, producers and entrepreneurs, have the opportunity to present their new and novel findings in the different fields of corrosion and structural integrity that are taking place with the particularity of the regions of the country and in the global context.
In the development of the congress, the V International Symposium on Structural Integrity will be held in order to open the space for the industrial, business and academic sector to present their results, experiences, industrial solutions and implementations of techniques based on methodologies that are related to the control and assurance of structural integrity; with a symbiosis from the praxis and the theoretical concepts that govern its context of application. Taking as a reference typical industrial cases, from the Pacifica region, Vallecaucana and its surroundings.
The themes of the congress include the following:

- Corrosion at high temperatures.
- Asset integrity in industrial plants.
- Coatings for corrosion control on ferrous metal surfaces.
- Corrosion in steel structures for use in construction.
- Corrosion in materials with medical applications.
- Corrosion, protection and conservation of historical and cultural heritage.
