International. Croda International Plc, confirmed the acquisition of IonPhasE, technology and innovation company, supplier of electrostatic protection products, based in Tempere, Finland.
Operating in some of the fastest growing segments in the plastics market, IonPhasE has developed and provides a range of antistatic additives that help prevent damage to electrical components, increase the safety of chemical and food packaging, and enhance the long-term appearance of consumer appliances. Within the framework of electrostatic discharge protection (ESD) and inherent dissipative polymers (IDP), IonPhasE products use the most advanced technologies in the electrostatic protection market, which work to release static electricity in a controlled manner. These additives are known as permanent antistatics.
This acquisition supports Croda's growth strategy in consumer-oriented high-tech materials markets and serves the growing demand for polymeric additives that control static electricity in automotive parts, appliances, personal electronic devices and other sensitive components.
Croda explained that IonPhasE's products are a natural extension of its existing product portfolio and, by bringing together the expertise of both research and development teams, Croda will be able to offer an even wider and more diversified range of products to its customers through the global sales and marketing workforce.
