International. Oxea released its first Sustainability Report, which presents a broad disclosure of the company's fiscal year 2016 performance in governance and ethics, sustainability, workplace health and safety, environmental management, and economic and social aspects.
Highlights of 2016 sustainability performance include measures to use energy more efficiently and safety excellence, such as Oxea's I-Safety Initiative, a "fight against risk" campaign.
"We understand our pivotal role as a chemical producer, and we are committed to growing our business reliably and responsibly," said Oxea CEO Dr. Salim Al Huthaili.
"At Oxea we see as part of our corporate image that we will further study technologies and process improvements to reduce energy consumption, achieve more resource-efficient operations and minimize our environmental footprint," added Dr. EVP, Global Operations Dr. Oliver Borgmeier.
Oxea has been awarded a Silver Award by the rating agency EcoVadis. Based on an assessment of the company's activities in the area of sustainability, Oxea ranked among the top 15 percent of suppliers in all categories in 2016.

Oxea's report for fiscal year 2016 was prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative(GRI) G4 reporting guidelines.
