Brazil. Siegwerk Druckfarben, supplier of printing inks for packaging and label applications, has signed a contract to buy Tupahue Tintas, a renowned company in the Brazilian market of inks and varnishes for flexography and gravure located in Diadema (São Paulo).
With this acquisition, Siegwerk expands its presence in Latin America and strengthens its ability to better meet the specific demands of the local market.
"With the purchase of Tupahue Tintas, we added a well-established ink supplier with high-quality products for packaging applications to the Siegwerk family," said Andrea Serturini, president and head of the LATAM region at Siegwerk. "You can see a growing demand for custom applications and high-end packaging in Latin America. As far as packaging is concerned, solvent-based flexo-based processes remain the main printing processes used in the region. Combining Tupahue's and our know-how and technology in these fields now adds great value to our offering for local markets."
The Tupahue Tintas portfolio covers flexographic and gravure printing inks and varnishes suitable for a wide range of substrates such as LDPE, HDPE, BOPP, PP, polyolefin, polyester, aluminum, metallized films and others.
Siegwerk's purchase offer includes the transfer of all know-how and product portfolio, as well as manufacturing equipment related to Tupahue's headquarters in Diadema. Both companies will work closely together to ensure smooth business integration without any interference to both companies' current customers.
