International. Evonik announced that it will acquire 3M's high-concentration additive compounds business, further expanding its capabilities with specialty additives.
"We are gaining an excellent platform for the development of innovative solutions, and we will be able to significantly expand our product portfolio with this acquisition," said Dr. Dietmar Schaefer, head of Evonik's Interface & Performance business line.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2018, subject to customary closing conditions. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The transaction includes the Accurel brand product produced in Obernburg (Bavaria, Germany), as well as the Obernburg production plant with approximately 25 jobs to be retained.
