Mexico. Dow launches its latest Adcotetm L-805 A/C (High Solids) lamination adhesive during the Plastimagen Mexico 2017 event. It is a solvent-based adhesive with high performance and a high solids content, which increases productivity and efficiency; at the same time, reduce energy consumption, offering a lower cost as a final result.
This adhesive is ideal in the production of packaging that requires high thermal resistance, for example, those used for tomato or mayonnaise and require hot filling, or are ideal for products that need high chemical resistance, such as chlorine and cleaning liquids.
In addition, it is the only BPA-free adhesive that complies with European regulation and has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the United States of America.
These benefits are possible thanks to its solids content, which reduces the amount of solvent in its formulation, compared to other products on the market.
Adcotetm L-805 A/C makes possible a formulation with a range of 15 to 20% less solvent in the adhesive mixture. Other benefits obtained as a result of the high content of solids are:
Increase in application speed that can exceed 350 m/min
Increased productivity in the machine, as it contains less solvent to dry
One of the best thermal and chemical resistances on the market
Reduction of energy consumption
Lower emission of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
Offers a more competitive cost-benefit
"We present a more concentrated product with a high solids content, which helps to make the packaging production process more sustainable from an environmental, social and economic point of view; reduces the emission of volatile organic compounds, guarantees the safety of the packaging of chemically aggressive or hot-packed products, and is more economical since it offers greater productivity in the lamination process," says Juan Carlos Orozco, product director for adhesives in Latin America.
