Colombia/Argentina. With the aim of encouraging and honoring the work of the car painter, the Glasurit brand, BASF's automotive repainting, held for the first time in Colombia the contest "Rewarding the best painter".
More than 270 Colombians who work with Glasurit in renowned dealerships participated and two of them were selected to represent the country in the grand final of the contest in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Yosser Serpa and Jhon Vásquez, won the regional stage in Colombia and competed in the final of the Contest Awarding the Best Painter of South America against 5 people from Peru, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia and Uruguay to hold the title of the best painter in the region. The jury was composed of specialists from BASF, CESVI and renowned people in the world of cars.
"Never before has the work of the country's car painters been highlighted, many of whom have an empirical talent. That is why from Glasurit we take this initiative that demonstrates its excellent work in the sector, "says Andrés Arboleda, manager of the Automotive Paint Division.
The contest had three instances of competition, the first "zonal stage" in which participants answered multiple choice questions. The second "regional stage", a practical competition to demonstrate their skills by painting real parts of a car and in the last instance "final stage", the winners represented their country in a practical test in Argentina.
The winners of the contest were as follows:

2) Matias Valerio (Uruguay) - Taller Santa Rosa
3) Osvaldo Marcelo Ramirez (Argentina) - Taller Rosario Automotores
