International. Eastman announced the launch of its 2017 sustainability report "Innovating with Purpose." Based on the company's progress, the report provides a review of Eastman's sustainability strategy and goals, as well as highlights from the past year.
The company's transformational change in its sustainability strategy is highlighted; a greater emphasis on innovation, including examples where sustainability and innovation achieve conjuncture to address global macro trends and improve the quality of life, focusing on a continuous responsible use of natural resources.
"At Eastman, we recognize that the world faces enormous complexity and challenges," said David A. Golden, senior vice president, chief sustainability officer and corporate secretary. "We know we need to create a lot more value with the resources we use or the future won't be sustainable. We have outlined a sustainability strategy to address these global issues through managing a sustainable portfolio, directing resource productivity, and presenting good actions focused by employees and the company for the simple sake of doing good. I want to share this year's report and the progress we continue to make. I am optimistic about the future and Eastman's ability to drive positive change."
