Argentina. PPG announced the opening of a new 300-square-meter training center for automotive refinish professionals in Pillar, Argentina. The company expects to train more than 300 repainting technicians annually at state-of-the-art facilities, with 100 professionals receiving training by the end of 2017.
PPG experts will train technicians from Argentina, Chile and Uruguay in all PPG product lines and color modules, as well as application techniques. The new facility expands PPG's training resources in southern Latin America, adding to the automotive refinish training center it currently operates in Sumaré, Brazil.
"The new training center reinforces PPG's commitment to developing the automotive refinish workforce and industry of southern Latin America," said Fabrício Vieira, commercial and marketing director of PPG, an automotive refinery in southern Latin America. "This facility ensures that PPG experts and renewal technicians have access to the most advanced tools and training, ultimately ensuring customer satisfaction. We are very proud to open this world-class facility for the region's automotive renewal industry."
The new center will help further establish PPG's rigorous quality standards in the region and facilitate the deployment of the three pillars that guide the company's automotive touch-up business around the world: innovative technology pipeline, increased technical expertise and excellent brand experience.
"The opening of the training center in Argentina symbolizes PPG's belief in the potential of Latin America as a whole," said Andres Nitti, business development supervisor for PPG, Automotive Refineries, Argentina. "With this strategic investment, we continue our goal to further raise the level of the region's renovation market."
