Mexico. Comex has a plan to expand its distribution network in territories of the country where it does not yet have a presence, so they will soon open a new distribution center in the town of Chihuahua.
This decision of the company belonging to PPG industries, seeks to strengthen its presence in the northwest region of the country. To achieve this commitment, the company had already built another distribution center in Hermosillo, Sonora, which is in operation and which has allowed them to achieve a growth in sales in that area of the country of 46.8%, that is, 28.1% more in liters and a refill frequency in their concession stores reduced from between 5-11 weeks to 1-2 weeks.
According to the newspaper t21.com.mx, in Hermosillo, the company made a change of strategy in its distribution model, going from a delivery to stores -via outsourced transport-, to a model where its customers collect their products themselves.
Comex plans to open three new distribution centers in the towns of Merida, Guadalajara and Southern Mexico City.
Comex currently has eight cedis totaling about 73,997 square meters: two in the State of Mexico (Tultitlán and Cuautitlán), Hermosillo, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Minatitlán, Mérida and Tijuana.
