Colombia. The Andean Paint Congress held from March 8 to 9 at the Country Club Ejecutivos in Medellín, Colombia, left a day of learning, new contacts and an important presence of members of the sector.
After the absence of the fair in 2016, the Association of Andean Technicians in Coatings (STAR) put all its effort into holding a profitable congress for this year. There were more than 90 professionals who participated in the training days plus a hundred professionals who came to tour the exhibiting companies, which continue to believe in the Andina Paint project. The magazine INPRA LATINA was also present there.
The seminar called "Strategies for the formulation of coatings of high performance and optimal cost", given by Dr. Jamil A. Baghdachi, PhD in organic and polymer chemistry from the University of Mississippi, and Doctorate in research from the University of Massachusetts, was very well received by the attendees, who recognized in the lecturer a wide knowledge in the field.
The second seminar, called "Medellín, territory of innovation", given by Carlos Andrés Franco Pachón, who is a professional in special projects of the Ruta N Corporation, provided a complementary look at the paints and coatings sector. The days of talks were completed with valuable contributions from different companies and speakers specialized in formulation topics.
We will be waiting for confirmation from STAR to know if the fair will be held in 2018 or will return in 2019.
