International. Axalta announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Century Industrial Coatings, one of the leading manufacturers of high-performance industrial coatings for structural steel, oil and gas applications. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1966, Century manufactures well-known products including CenturyGuard water-based primers, Century Extreme epoxy and polyurethane coatings, and a family of low-volatile organic compounds (VOCs) of zinc-rich epoxy and urethane. As proof of its technical leadership, Century recently received the Texas Environmental Excellence Award for a water-based joist primer that significantly improved the reduction of ozone-damaging emissions.
