Two new coatings, Hempadur Quattro XO 17820 and 17870, have been developed by Hempel with the purpose of increasing service life and reducing station maintenance requirements for offshore assets.
The new high-performance pure epoxy uni-primers presented combine excellent corrosion protection and flexibility in construction.
Hempadur Quattro XO 17820/17870 are part of a series of two-component epoxy primer coatings that provide advanced crack resistance using Hempel's patented fiber technology. They can be applied in areas immersed and not immersed in any asset on the high seas, from offshore platforms and drilling platforms through support ships.
In accordance with the latest environmental regulations, the products are fully compatible with the regulations of the IMO Performance Standard for Protective Coatings (PSPC). Its proportion of high-volume solids (80%) means that fewer volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are released into the atmosphere.
They can be applied to multiple areas above and below the waterline, including ballast water and oil loading tanks, and can be applied year-round with working capacity from -10°C / 14°F to 45°C / 113°F.
