United States/Mexico.
The National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) and the National Chemical Industry Association (ANIQ), national chemical industry associations of the United States and Mexico, respectively, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreeing to recognize the value of each organization's environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) programs known as Responsible Distribution and Comprehensive Accountability.
The MOU also covered best practices, information sharing and additional support.
"Responsible Distribution is at the core of everything we do here at NACD as we celebrate the program's 25th anniversary this year, and we are thrilled to recognize our respective programs, enhance our international cooperation, and share best practices with ANIQ," said Eric R Byer, President of NACD. "Today's agreement is a testament to our shared commitment to ensuring our members are constantly working to improve environmental health and safety throughout the supply chain."
The Memorandum of Understanding recognizes that the partnerships' mutual programs work to reduce incidents and improve performance at EHS&S and that the exchange of information and best practices brings value to both partnerships and ultimately has a positive impact on the global market.
Founded in 1959, ANIQ represents a select group of 220 voluntarily affiliated companies of different sizes and activities that generate more than 95% of private chemical production in Mexico.
