Between January and September of this year, BASF recorded sales of €42,704 million, a drop of 25%.
As for the EBITDA corresponding to this period of 2016, the company registered a year-on-year decrease of 8%, to reach 8,039 million euros. BASF's net profit also fell by 8% to €3,367 million.
By segment, Chemicals recorded sales of 9,899 million euros, which was 14% less than in the same period of 2015. Performance Products, on the other hand, reached 11,400 million (-5%); Functional Materials & Solutions, €13,771 million (-2%); that of Agricultural Solutions, 4,288 million (-8%) and that of Oil & Gas registered the largest year-on-year decrease (-85%) with 1,846 million euros of sales.
By region, sales fell by 36% in Europe, reaching 20,647 million euros. In North America, they recorded 10,977 million euros, 10% less. In Asia Pacific, the fall was 7%, with a total of 8,225 million, and in South America, Africa and the Middle East sales fell by 12% to 2,855 million euros.
