Sargent Art recalled its craft paints due to the risk of exposure to bacteria.
This was revealed by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), which explained that the products in reference are tempera and finger paints for arts and crafts.
The risk is that the paint may contain harmful bacteria. The Cpsc explained that exposure to certain bacteria can have adverse health effects in individuals with immunological problems, presenting a risk of serious disease, including a bacterial infection. Bacteria generally do not affect consumers with healthy immune systems.
The Cpsc indicated that consumers should immediately stop using the recalled paints and contact Sargent Art for a full refund.
About 2.8 million units of paint in the United States (plus 20,000 units in Canada). This recall covers 13 types of tempera and finger paints from Sargent Art.
