Pintuco participated in the project of signaling and demarcation of the exclusive lanes for buses and collectives, and the more than 200 stops of these vehicles in the city of Medellín.
According to Juan Fernando Baena, regional manager of Maintenance and Signaling of Pintuco, "the technology applied for this solution was cold plastic in trowel, which is an ideal coating for high traffic applications due to its non-slip characteristics in areas where there is greater wear of the surface such as bus stops, pedestrian crossings, pictograms and speed reducers".
Achieving the color orange under cold plastic technology was an exclusive development of Pintuco for this project. "It was a joint work between the different areas of the Company such as RAD Marketing, Technical Service and Research and Development, among others. Thanks to teamwork we did it in record time, managing to meet the expectations of Juan Esteban Martínez, secretary of mobility of Medellín who, in addition to giving us his endorsement on the performance of this product, showed a deep interest in granting Pintuco other road corridors to be intervened with this solution, "said Baena.
In short, during the next six (6) months, 84 km of exclusive bus lanes will be created in Medellín. There will be fixed stops and 394 of these cars that do not comply with the rules will go out of circulation.
The exclusive lanes will be demarcated with basic signage, Pintuco paint, estoperoles and well-placed elements. In this way, exclusive bus lanes will be available on different roads, which will help improve mobility in the city.
