The Lubrizol Corporation announced that it has acquired Diamond Dispersions Ltd., a company focused exclusively on the production of pigment dispersions and water-based dyes for inks used in digital printing.
Headquartered in Sheffield, UK, Diamante Dispersions has established itself as a high-quality, responsible and innovative dispersion producer, occupying a significant position in this growing niche market.
Diamond Dispersions will advance Lubrizol Performance Coatings' goal to grow its portfolio of products that enable digital printing. According to Sanjay Kalhan, General Manager of Lubrizol Performance Coatings, "The combined technologies, knowledge and experience of both companies will further drive innovation across product lines and Lubrizol's position as the preferred partner for ink manufacturers looking to develop new digital printing systems for this crop market. In addition to their special additives, dispersants and resin product lines, ink manufacturers will now have the opportunity to look for dispersions formulated through Lubrizol."
Diamond Dispersions is now part of Lubrizol Advanced Materials, reporting in Lubrizol's high-performance coatings business. This operation includes all intellectual property, trademarks and diamond dispersion customer lists. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
