Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings announced that its SKYscapes polyurethane enamel has been added to the QPL (Qualified Product List) by the Embraer MEP 10-125 Specification of High Solids Type II Polyurethane (polyester), for use in its business and commercial aircraft.
This "basecoat-clearcoat" coating provides superior appearance and durability and its latest patented technology is AMS 3095 certified. This paint system cures at room temperature in half the time of other single-stage aerospace coating systems.
Designed to meet the demanding needs of the aviation market, this coating system provides shine, better hide colors than traditional paint systems and its technology can reduce the OEM painting process time by up to 30%.
"We are proud to be added to the Embraer MEP 10-125 specification," said Chip Mullins, international sales manager for Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings. "We are aware of the quality of coatings and the durability of their unique demand for aviation products, and we look forward to offering and servicing them with the best aircraft finishes."
