Sherwin-Williams officially opened the doors of its new powder plant located near Poznan, Poland. At the heart of the new 3,000 square meter plant is the new low-cure Powdura Sprint technology for engineered wood and the PowDura OneCure, a dry-on-dry powder coating system – both designed to provide higher quality results, energy savings and improve efficiency.
Poland's new powder plant contains top-notch manufacturing equipment and a fully equipped paint lab. Even though the inauguration took place on April 28, the plant has been operating since early 2016, and the work of supplying manufacturers and finishers with the new powder coating technology has already begun.
"The PowDura OneCure has been very well received so far, and the interest in wood powder is growing. Another goal is to offer OEM customers who are within the electronics and heavy equipment segments a complete global service, while becoming a bespoke supplier of high-tech powders for regional finishing stores and top-tier suppliers. We believe our new powder plant will make this possible," said Thomas Bergdahl, President and Managing Director emea.
In addition to new manufacturing techniques and a wide range of powder coating platforms, the new plant allows Sherwin-Williams to increase the value of its offering.
