Sun Chemical released its 2015 Sustainability Report, which showcases Sun Chemical's leadership in eco-efficiency through metrics based on established data, as well as examples of how suppliers are contributing to the company's environmental footprint.
The report outlines six case studies to show how Sun Chemical's balanced scorecard is used to assess the environmental performance of its suppliers, helping to ensure that suppliers do not let their guard down in developing new technologies that reduce the overall environmental impact of their products.
Some of the highlights of the report identify commitments within Sun Chemical's supply chain covering raw materials, distribution and internal fleet cars, including how:
- Sun Chemical inks use a large number of bio-derived rosins from coniferous trees
- Sun Chemical's carbon black supplier maintains positive energy by generating surplus power
- Sun Chemical's ink division in Europe reduces car fleet emissions year after year
Sun Chemical's logistics provider is changing over-the-road truck lanes to intermodal
