As part of the American Coatings Show, Lanxess Corporation presented its new products and technologies for the coatings industry, with pigments and biocides for the coloring and protection of premium coating materials.
During the show, the company introduced the innovative Bayferrox range of red pigments, which is based on the development of a new production process. The so-called Ningbo Process is being used for the first time at Lanxess' new production facility in Ningbo, China, currently the most modern plant of its kind in the world. After celebrating the completion of construction work in November 2015, synthesis production at the new site has started as planned in the first quarter of 2016.
Inorganic pigments represent for Lanxess a coherent combination of environmental responsibility, efficiency and quality. In line with these objectives and based on 90 years of company experience, Lanxess has once again set a milestone in the production of synthetic iron oxide pigments. Ningbo's newly developed process allows high quality red oxide pigments to be manufactured in an environmentally friendly way.
Lanxess' Rhein Chemie Additives business offered a product portfolio, including pigment preparations for water-based paints, wood dyes and f-inks.
The Material Protection Products business unit unveiled a wide range of biocides for the coatings industry, proven to improve product preservation and expand dry film protection. Preservatives protect wood varnishes, emulsion paints, coatings and plasters from microbial attack.
