Dow Corning presented at Label Summit Latin America 2016 the Syl-Off EM 7978, the latest addition to its portfolio of high-performance nonstick coatings for food packaging.
The new emulsion was formulated to coat papers used for baking and cooking in commercial applications, taking advantage of advanced silicone technology to provide an easy and clean anti-adhesion performance and giving a water repellency with low silicone layer, of even 0.20 g / m².
Dow Corning continues to expand its line of emulsion silicone coatings for paper with in-line (direct in the paper machine) and off-line (application in coater) processing, with the aim of meeting the growing demand of the food sector for more productivity, sustainability and cost reduction.
"Dow Corning's new Syl-Off EM 7978 coating and other silicone technologies for food non-adhesion are based on continuous innovation to help our customers achieve success in a highly competitive industry," says Kris Verschueren, global segment director of Packaging at Dow Corning.
All Dow Corning silicone emulsions for non-stick food products comply with European food contact regulations (BfR Recommendation XXXVI, Food Contact Paper and Board and BfR Recommendation XXXVI/2, Paper and Cardboard for Use in Ovens.) They also meet food and drug administration (FDA) standards for food contact (21 CFR 176.70, Paper and cardboard components in contact with aqueous and fatty foods and 21 CFR 176.180, Paper and cardboard components in contact with dry food.
