Clariant unveiled what they call the next step forward in achieving highly durable water-based coatings with weather protection, scratch resistance and surface touch effects for flooring and outdoor applications.
At the Waterborne Symposium in New Orleans, USA, Clariant highlighted its water-based light stabilizers, and renewable-based wax additives that combine a more natural and sustainable product offering with state-of-the-art performance. The latest additives improve the performance capabilities of water-based coatings compared to conventional solutions, making sustainable solutions a viable alternative for solvent-based systems for paint and coating formulators.
The Ceridust is a product that enables the creation of water-based wood cladding that offers exceptional scratch resistance and an innovative surface that is felt through unique textured or soft touch effects. They are based solely on renewable non-food plant-based raw materials.
The Hostavin, based on water dispersions, supplies a radical change in the operation of UV stability that helps prevent the unwanted effects of weathering on wood coatings such as substrate discoloration, loss of shine and the subsequent formation of blisters and cracking of a coating for finishes.
