Colombia. Pintuco, which celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2015, announced historical records in production and sales. At the end of the previous year, the company reached 17 million gallons of paint sold in Colombia, the highest figure since the company was created in December 1945.
The company also highlighted the development of its plant located in the municipality of Rionegro (Antioquia) which is certified as Carbon Neutral, which means that it mitigates greenhouse gas emissions.
Pintuco is today a multilatina with presence in eleven countries, from Honduras to Ecuador. That in addition to producing decorative paints, it is also immersed in the manufacture of specialized coatings for construction and infrastructure. Today, it accompanies the great public investment in recovery and reconstruction of the road network in Colombia with the signaling of 4G roads, with specialized paints for road demarcation, signaling and coatings for the river and marine sectors.
It also produces reflective spheres that reduce the risk of accidents on new roads.
The company, belonging to Grupo Orbis, currently has seven production plants that supply the markets of eleven countries in Latin America, where it also generates direct employment for 2,200 people.
In an interview published by the Orbis Group website, Jean Jacques Thiriez, vice president of the Paints business of the Orbis Group, commented that "during these 70 years we have worked on initiatives for the protection of the planet through innovation in the design and development of products that are friendly to the environment and that at the same time meet the needs of customers".
