Mexico. The chemical company, Wacker has expanded the portfolio of services at its technical center in Mexico City. The local center now comprises state-of-the-art application technology technology and test equipment for polymer dispersions needed as binders for architectural coatings and adhesives.
The expansion not only allows the company to help its local customers develop new and tailor-made products for the region. It also encourages the exchange of knowledge and promotes internationally recognized quality standards in Latin America.
The expansion has focused on vinyl-ethylene acetate (VAE) copolymer dispersions used as binders for low-odor interior paints, durable exterior coatings and sustainable water-based adhesives.
"Latin America is a promising market for Wacker. The demand is increasing for our high-quality dispersions. Our sales in the region have grown significantly in recent years and we are encouraged by the potential of the regions. This new facility will help foster the development of our products and support the needs of our local customers," explained John Fotheringham, vice president of dispersions at Wacker.
The new laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art international instrumentation standards.
