International. Lubrizol's high-performance coatings business announced the inclusion of new laboratory capabilities for its Innovation Centre in Singapore.
The Innovation Center, a US$5.5 million investment between the high-performance coatings and personal care businesses, opened in October 2013, with the goal of extending Lubrizol's technical innovation and expertise to customers across Asia.
Expanding from a small rented space to a significantly larger laboratory owned by Lubrizol, the Innovation Center enables customer training events, product research and development, development formulations, in-depth application testing, and a greater understanding of structural properties. In recent months, new coating capabilities have come online at the center.
Advanced equipment for measuring surface effects allows laboratory technicians to reinforce research into contact angles, surface tension, and haptic and adhesion properties of coatings on a variety of substrates.
