International. BASF confirmed the opening of its new resins and cataphoresis plant at the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP) headquarters in Shanghai, China. This new plant will further strengthen the company's manufacturing footprint in Asia-Pacific and create nearly 70 new jobs.
During the opening ceremony, Dr. Markus Kamieth, President of BASF Coatings, said: "This plant is an important addition to our global network of manufacturing high-quality coatings. This demonstrates our strong commitment to supporting the long-term growth of the automotive industry in Asia-Pacific."
This new resin plant is fully integrated into the new automotive paint plant, to create more synergies and high efficiency in production. The production facilities will strengthen BASF's position for growing industries, particularly the automotive industry, in the region.
