Peru. As of January 1, 2016, the new Law on the Promotion of Scientific Research, Technological Development and Technological Innovation will come into operation.
It is a tax incentive for business innovation that grants an additional 100% deduction percentage to the expenses made by companies in scientific research, technological development and technological innovation (activity known as R + D + i).
This additional deduction, which can reach 75% of the expense, reduces the net income from which the income tax is calculated. To a large extent, it reduces the tax to be paid, in proportion to the expenditure on R + D + i.
The law aims to increase private investment in innovation, research and business development through a tax incentive, and all companies, regardless of the category or size, that request it can have access to it.
