Spain. The Technological Institute of Plastics, Aimplas, has collaborated in the development of a new generation of paints with insecticidal effect.
It is a product intended for use as a functional coating on outdoor surfaces, from furniture to facades, whose effectiveness can exceed two years.
The creators indicate that the functional coating developed during the project is totally safe for human health, since it has been proven that it does not release odors and is free of active substances that may be toxic to people. In addition, it is a product of high durability, since it has been proven that the paint does not present significant losses of the active substance compared to the usual washing operations.
Due to its properties, one of the possible practical applications of the product is its application in architecture and garden furniture, so it has been developed in exterior quality and gloss white color, although the product does not present limitations in terms of its formulation in other qualities, colors or finishes.
The company Adapta Color develops the Repelpin research project with the financial collaboration of the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) in which Aimplas has participated by developing a technology that preserves the activity of insecticides during the production and application processes.
