International. They have developed a technology of pigments that can change color according to the state of temperature, light or pressure.
After months of research, its creators say that the product is especially aimed at the aeronautical, automotive, and household appliance markets. "These are materials that take into account both the organic and inorganic parts. They are new materials that, depending on their composition, can change color adapting to temperature, light and pressure," explained Jean-Francois Letard, founder of Olikrom, the company that created the product, based in France.
"Our goal is to develop a type of paint capable of indicating, for example, whether a part of an aircraft has been hit in the course of a flight. I'm talking about the impact of a bird, hail during a storm or any object on the track. These types of mishaps can damage the structure of the plane," Letard added.
The creators emphasize that pigments must be prepared to change color only from a certain level of pressure.
