Mexico. BASF announced that its owned plant located in Puebla would have an injection of US$8 million this year in order to produce a catalytic paint for vehicle radiators that will be marketed globally.
The company is analyzing which of the 380 factories it has around the planet would receive the investment, however, the director of the factory in Mexico, Antar Mendoza Ibarrola, said that they have possibilities to receive the investment, due to the active participation of automotive plants such as Volkswagen and Audi, in San José Chiapa.
Self-calytic paint consists of converting ozone into oxygen, and its development seeks to eliminate the gray dust generated by the radiator.
BASF, at its plant in Puebla, exports 60 percent of production to the United States, 20 percent to Europe, 10 percent to Asia, 8 percent to Latin America and the rest stays in Mexico.
