Colombia. Azelis, an innovation services provider in the specialty chemicals industry, announced the signing of an agreement to acquire Localpack, a specialty chemicals distributor active in the life sciences and industrial chemicals segments in Colombia.
The acquisition represents a strategic expansion of the Group's presence, consistent with its growth objectives in the region.
Localpack is one of the leading distributors of specialty chemicals in the domestic market. The company employs 27 people and operates an application lab near Medellin, serving customers throughout Colombia.
Localpack's long-standing relationships with global and regional directors, and the technical product expertise it has developed over the years, expand the Azelis lateral value chain throughout Latin America. This expansion will enable Azelis to better serve customers and accelerate its growth in the region.
The transaction follows several key initiatives in Latin America by Azelis in recent years, including the establishment of a regional innovation center (RIC) in Mexico in 2022, the acquisition of ROCSA S.A. in Colombia in 2022 and Vogler Ingredients Ltda. in Brazil earlier this year. The addition of Localpack's portfolio of products and capabilities marks another important milestone in Azelis' growth strategy in the region.
Todd Cottrell, CEO of Azelis Americas, commented, "The acquisition of Localpack provides Azelis with a partner with a strong product portfolio and a track record of performance in Colombia."
"This transaction expands our customer base and relationships with key key key partners that are aligned with our strategic vision for the region. The Localpack team shares our commitment to innovation and we look forward to continuing towards our goal of becoming the preeminent provider of innovation and solutions for our customers and principals in Latin America."
Nicolas Fernandez, CEO and co-founder of Localpack, added: "We are a great cultural fit with Azelis and share a common set of core values. Our focus on specialty chemicals, long-standing relationships and a consistent technical-commercial approach to the market have enabled Localpack to position itself as a trusted and valued partner to our customers in Colombia, while contributing significantly to the business of our principals."
"By leveraging Azelis' strong network and leadership in sustainability, digitalization and innovation, Localpack will be able to thrive and better support the mission of our employees, customers and directors. We look forward to joining the Azelis team and bringing significant value to Azelis' growth strategy in the region."
