International. After two years as president of Nova Paint, John Falder, who is also president of HMG Paints in Manchester, UK, will hand over the reins to Jeff Powell, CEO and president of Diamond Vogel, based in Orange City, Iowa.
Nova Paint consists of 13 members worldwide. Each is independent and a leader in its own nation or region. Together they employ more than 10,000 people and sell approximately $3 billion worth of products each year.
Nova membership offers a window to the world to domestic companies buying and selling on global markets. At twice-yearly Nova conferences, CEOs meet informally to share best practices and hear from international speakers inside and outside the paint industry.
Every two years, Nova members vote for a president from among their members. The new chairman, Jeff Powell, was elected at Nova's 40th Anniversary Conference in Orange City, Iowa, USA, in October of this year.
In handing over the presidency, Falder said, "It's been a real honor to be the figurehead of a group that really has a passion for painting and for the people who make and use it. I'm particularly proud to have celebrated Nova's 40 years of business this year and I'm confident that Jeff will guide us into the next 40 years with skill and care."
Powell said, "It is an honor to take the reins from John, who has led Nova with passion and integrity for the past two years. We are an incredibly dynamic set of companies and I look forward to guiding us towards exciting new developments in the coming years.
"Stay tuned to this space for some important announcements on how we plan to bring the global paints and coatings industry together to achieve some significant impacts on climate change," he said.
