Argentina. After the May meeting, which was attended by financial analyst Claudio Zuchovicki, the Argentine Chamber of Painters (Capin) concluded the year by once again bringing together the main leaders of the sector at the Savoy Hotel Buenos Aires.
This time, the private event held last Thursday, November 30, was attended by the renowned specialist in social trends, Guillermo Oliveto.
He gave the lecture Navigating in a Post-Election Argentina: Trends in Consumption and Social Humor 2023/2024. Due to the context of the country, this time it was confirmed that the event would be held at the beginning of November, after the elections, so it was organized in record time.
The meeting began, as usual, at 6 p.m. with a reception coffee at the emblematic Imperio Lobby Bar of the Savoy Hotel Buenos Aires.
After 7 p.m., the attendees descended to the Olimpo Hall (located in the basement). To begin, Omar Di Toro, the current president of CAPIN, gave a warm welcome and thanked each of the companies that participated with their brands as sponsors of the event, highlighting the support as always and the great effort made considering the current economic situation.
He also thanked everyone present for their participation. He then invited the former president of CAPIN, Juan Martín Micelli, to receive recognition for his management, period 2012-2023.
Subsequently, Guillermo Oliveto, began with the lecture of approximately one hour of dissertation, where he addressed the issue of consumption and highlighted a scenario of growing tension between individual desires and real possibilities and, in this regard, proposed four strategies to operate and innovate in these markets where the tension between desire vs. desire grows. Possibilities: savings, well-being, access and opportunity.
Despite the context of the crisis, he stated that consumption is not experiencing a complete drop, and attributed this fact to various factors. Primarily, he highlighted the compulsion of those who have the option to free themselves from economic restrictions and choose to anticipate purchases that could become more expensive in the future.
The dissertation was well valued by those present because it allowed them to reflect, taking away some future strategies to implement, and some even highlighted it as "one of the best of all the events held by CAPIN".
After the closing of the conference, with some questions and answers, the attendees went back up to the Imperio Bar where they shared a cocktail dinner and a pleasant moment among colleagues from the sector.
