United States. PPG announced the appointment of Sam Millikin as Vice President of Aerospace Coatings effective January 1, 2024.
In this role, Millikin will lead this global strategic business and succeed Daniel G. Korte, currently PPG's senior vice president of aerospace coatings, who has announced his intention to retire in the second quarter of 2024.
Millikin joined PPG in 1989 and has progressed through various roles of increasing responsibility during his 34 years. This has included roles in account management, sales and marketing within PPG's specialty materials and coatings business.
In 2013, Millikin joined PPG's aerospace packaging business as a global platform business manager with responsibility for strategy development, pricing, marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, and product engineering/development. He was appointed Global Platform Director for PPG's Aerospace Packaging and Sealers business in 2017, where he managed all aspects of this business.
In 2020, Millikin was appointed to his current role as Global Platform Director of PPG's Aerospace Coatings and Sealants business.
"Sam's proven leadership and experience in the aerospace industry will be invaluable in this important role at PPG," said Tim Knavish, president and chief executive officer of PPG.
"We thank Dan for his many contributions. His leadership and commitment to continuous improvement have strengthened the aerospace business and enabled PPG to offer customers many new solutions. We thank Dan for his tremendous service and congratulate Sam for this key leadership position."
Korte joined PPG in 2018 from LMI Aerospace, where he served as the company's CEO and board member.
Prior to LMI, he progressed through various roles at Boeing, including program director, F/A-18E; Vice President of Vendor Management and Procurement; and Vice President and General Manager of Global Strike Systems. He also served as president of the defense business at Rolls-Royce.
