United States. AkzoNobel has announced a new site manager for Pontiac Automotive and Specialty Coatings. Ricardo Rosso accepted the position as of March 1.
He started with AkzoNobel in 2011 in Brazil and then joined the company's North America (NAM) team in 2018 as production manager for Marine Coatings, Protectors and for Yachts at its Houston, Texas factory.
"I am excited about the opportunity to lead the AkzoNobel Pontiac workforce. It has been wonderful to be part of AkzoNobel's integrated supply chain transformation and to continuously grow my career and skills over the past 13 years," said Rosso.
"I look forward to helping drive further supply chain improvements in my new role for our customers."
Previously, he held various positions in AkzoNobel's supply chain, logistics and manufacturing teams and has supported several projects in the wood, packaging and coils business segments.
Rosso reports to Nate Norris, NAM's director of supply chain and manufacturing, who said, "As Pontiac's site manager, Ricardo leads all manufacturing operations to ensure our supply chain has continuous improvement. Ricardo brings excellent experience and skills to Pontiac, and I look forward to what he will achieve while leading our talented people."
AkzoNobel acquired the Pontiac factory in 1983 as part of the acquisition of Wyandotte Paint Products, securing a position in the North American automotive paint market.
The company opened a modern manufacturing building to produce Sikkens Car Refinishes in 1989, the first time Sikkens was produced in North America. Pontiac is the only factory in North America that produces vehicle finishes, signage and commercial vehicle products.
