International. Globic 7000 is a new antifouling coating for all ship types with a biocide blend to protect against both hard and soft scale, a product suitable for wide operating conditions including periods of slow steam and prolonged inactivity.
Globic 7000 is based on Hempel's Globic technology that has been applied to more than 10,000 vessels since 2002, ensuring a uniform and effective release of biocides, and a clean hull for as long as the vessel is in dry dock.
Davide Ippolito, Head of Product Management at Marine Group, Hempel A/S comments that the Globic range "has been designed to offer customers total operational flexibility. This new coating offers significant fuel economy and exceptional protection for up to 60 months, for all types of ships and a wide range of operating conditions. The high-volume solids in the coating make it can be applied more quickly to deliver greater cost reductions while the ship is in dry dock."
The product possesses improved operational flexibility and a 4.5% loss of speed, thus contributing to significant savings in fuel costs, and the reduction in associated emissions, for owners and operators.
Hempel's patented Nano acrylate technology provides a fine-polishing control mechanism to bring integral biocides to the surface at a stable rate to ensure a clean hull throughout the lifespan and also incorporates patented microfibers that provide greater mechanical strength.
