After a year of testing with its predecessor, TQC finally launches the PowderTAG, an instrument that measures the thickness of the powder coating up to 300 μm before and after curing. Without contact, it is non-destructive and works on metal substrates such as steel and aluminum.
A sophisticated combination of infrared measurements and thermal photography ensure accurate measurement, the pulse of PowderTAG does not need to be perpendicular, and they have a small measuring point, ideal for measuring thickness on small, curved or hard-to-reach objects.
An LED indicator helps determine the correct distance and location. Due to the principle of non-contact measurement, parts can be analyzed on a slow-moving line without damaging the coating.
By measuring before the curing process, the necessary action of the coating process can be taken immediately, this leads to savings in dust consumption and minimizes reworking or rejections.
