BASF
Thinking about the contribution to the wind energy industry, BASF has launched on the market a coating for the blades of wind turbines, it is the RELEST Wind LEP S. Which has passed a test in which it endured more than 50 hours of erosion caused by rain and hurricane winds.
The system consists of a gel layer, a filler material, a protection of the edges and a top layer based entirely on two solvent-free polyurethane compounds, which complies with the VOC (volatile organic compounds) directive.
Suitable for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), the material can be applied directly and easily to the rotor blade. Relest Wind Lep S improves the efficiency of wind turbine operation, providing effective erosion protection, thereby reducing potential maintenance costs.
With its minimum thickness, easy application, and excellent erosion resistance is the ideal protection for these systems.
