United States. During the first quarter of this year, Dow Chemical reported that it managed to obtain a net attributable profit of US$964 million, which means an increase of 75.3% compared to the same period in 2013.
The turnover of the chemical company stood during the initial three months of the year at US$14,461 million, that is, 0.5% more than in the same period of the previous year.
Regarding the markets, in Latin America the turnover decreased by 1.2% and in North America by 0.4%. The opposite happened in Asia Pacific, where sales increased by 2.7%, as well as in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), where the increase was 1.1%.
