United States. Specialty chemical group Altana signed a contract to acquire the Chemical Corporation of America Inc. (ChemCor), an American manufacturer of specialty wax additives.
The acquired company generates annual sales of about $17 billion from its main facilities in New York. Altana acquires this center together with the group of employees. The business will be integrated within BYK USA, which belongs to the additives and instruments division.
ChemCor is an ideal complement to our position in the wax additives business, which was previously occupied, especially in Europe, by BYK-Cera and has now been significantly strengthened beyond the region. Strategically we are very well placed to offer our customers high-level wax additive and capacity for innovation and service," commented Altana COE Matthias L. Wolfgruber.
