South Africa. AkzoNobel announced that it has strengthened its position in Africa with the acquisition of 100% of South Africa's Powder Coatings joint venture.
After 40 years of relationship, AkzoNobel Powder Coatings South Africa (Pty) and Freeworld Coatings concluded their participation in the original partnership. The new deal comes after Freeworld acquired Kansai.
"This acquisition demonstrates the confidence we have in this important market, and we believe South Africa is strategically placed to continue to expand our presence in Africa," said AB Ghosh, Head of Powder Coatings at AkzoNobel.
