RheoSense
The company RheoSense is introducing its new E chip, which expands the viscosity measurement range with significant advances in shear speed.
Mounted on the m-VROC viscometer, the E chip reaches up to 2,000,000 1/s water-like viscosity measurements or 1,000,000 1/s for various injket inks (~4 mPas).
Industrial processes such as inkjet, coatings or paints include high shear fluids. Paper coatings, inkjet and machine lubrication could have cutting speeds of 1,000,000 1/s.
With conventional viscometers, measuring viscosity in high shear fluids has been very difficult. With conventional instruments the fluid becomes turbulent and unstable which invalidates the measurement, having to repeat, wasting samples and other resources.
The E chip eliminates the early onset of turbulence. The E Chip's well-defined, microfabricated uniform fluid channel keeps the laminar fluid in high shear ranges, producing accurate measurements.
