Mexico. For a value of about US $ 2,100 million is estimated the market of paints and coatings in the North American nation, qualified as one of the sectors that generates more employment.
This was explained by Javier Maldonado, president of the National Association of Manufacturers of Paints and Inks (Anafapyt), who commented in local media that this industry creates about 90,000 jobs in the distribution chain in 15,000 points of sale.
Mexico consumes 5.1 liters per capita per year, and expects to raise those numbers to those of countries such as Brazil, which consume 8 liters and Japan that uses 15 liters per capita per year. "There is a lot of potential to undertake within this sector, because practically everything we have around us is covered with paint," Maldonado said.
Anafapyt has 300 paint manufacturing companies among its registers, which produced a total of 620 million liters in 2011.
Anafapyt will hold from July 17 to 19 the Expo Pinturas 2012 in Mexico City, a meeting where all the actors of the chain of paints and coatings will meet and that will also have an academic component. Learn more at www.expo-pinturas.com
