Argentina. Due to the rapid and constant growth of the marine and protective coatings market in South America, the Hempel company decided to open its first factory in the region focused on this segment.
The plant is located north of the city of Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, has 3,000 square meters of space and is one of the three plants that the company plans to put into operation in the period 2012-2013 in different parts of the world.
Hempel's goal is to reduce waiting times for consumers, as well as to allow the development of customized products that meet local legislations and standards. In addition to the above, the company's executives revealed in a statement that they expect a production volume of 10.5 million liters per year.
Finally, Lars Johansen, Vice President for the Americas, stated that the plant's location is strategic for the market. "Currently, we supply the South American market from our production facility in Singapore, but with the new plant in Buenos Aires we will be in a better position to serve new and existing customers in the region."
